Waterjet cutting for track traffic can be used to cut and process bogie of high-speed rail, subway and motor train unit, car body structural components and metal trims. The internal components of high-speed locomotive are generally manufactured from high strength and superior quality steel, requiring high dynamic load capacity and fatigue durability. We should not use hot cutting method to cut and process these components because any hot cutting technology will cause micro crack on the material edge due to overheating and greatly reduce the fatigue life of components.

Waterjet cutting is a cold cutting process that will not generate high temperature, not change the stress structure and not produce micro crack on the notch of materials to be cut. DARDI water jet cutting technology ensures that the cut and processed work pieces meet the strength and fatigue durability requirements, further guarantee the safety performance of locomotives.

Aluminum is the most widely used material in the manufacturing of high-speed locomotives. At present, the main material of body of high-speed locomotive is aluminum plate. Due to reflection of light, adopting laser to cut aluminum plates will easily cause damage to the laser cutting lens and largely increase the laser cutting and processing cost. The maximum cutting thickness of laser cutting machine is about 10 mm. For our water jet cutting technology, there exists no problem of reflection of light. The maximum cutting thickness for aluminum plate is up to 200 mm. At the same time, water jet cutting is a kind of cold cutting method, which is convenient for second processing or needs no secondary processing.
